Kevin was working three jobs, including the Fire Department. Vanessa is a volunteer EMT. When Kevin was diagnosed with prostate cancer, he was forced to give up two jobs during the treatment. When the treatments came to a close, on Christmas day, Kevin suffered a heart attack. After surgery, Kevin will only have 36% usage of his heart. This severely limited his ability to work overtime and, therefore, severely limited his income. The N. Family were on the verge of getting their electricity and gas cut off due to their inability to pay. In addition to the financial stress, this was a health concern as Kevin requires a CPAP machine. Life’s Angels satisfied the thousands of dollars in delinquent utility bills as well as some other debt so that the family was actually able to breathe freely again.
